  2. Instructions for using LibMotoSh (Shared Library):
  3. =============================================================================
  4. In order to use the libmoto shared library, drag it to your system folder.  Answer "yes"
  5. when asked if you want the extension placed in the system extensions folder. You should
  6. not have to reboot your computer to use the library.

  9. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:
  10. =============================================================================
  11. LIBMOTO End-User's version replaces the following standard C functions:
  12.  
  13.       * cos                  * pow
  14.       * exp                  * sin
  15.       * log                  * sqrt
  16.       * log10
  17.  
  18. The versions of LIBMOTO available herein are provided "as is".  LIBMOTO is 
  19. for the Mac OS for PowerPC.
  20.  
  21. The end-user version (named "LibMotoSh") is a shared library that updates
  22. several functions from Apple's MathLib. When using the end-user version,
  23. many standard Macintosh applications that use MathLib will run faster
  24. automatically without any recompilation.
  25.  
  26. The Motorola libraries do not replace the standard Apple libraries. When
  27. used in conjunction with the standard libraries, the Motorola libraries
  28. offer performance improvements.

  32. POTENTIAL BUGS AND CONFLICTS:
  33. =============================================================================
  34. The following conflicts have been observed when using the end-user version of Libmoto
  35. for the Macintosh OS:
  36.  
  37.      Several users have reported experiencing a conflict between LIBMOTO 
  38.      and Apple's GeoPort Modem. We have tested FreePPP and found no conflicts
  39.      however we do not have access to a GeoPort modem. We have had several
  40.      people write in to say that they have used both the GeoPort modem and
  41.      software with no problems. We are still looking into any bugs that are
  42.      reported so please keep turning them in. Please double check that other
  43.      inits are not causing conflicts before you turn a bug in on libmoto. We have
  44.      had close to12,000 people download it in the first week with only 7 bug
  45.      reports. So far most bug reports have been caused by unrelated system
  46.      extensions conflicts not involving libmoto or not reading the instructions.
